Relaxing harmony The name lavender comes from the latin “lavare” which means “to clean” because it was largely used to perfume bathroom water.
The plant comes from Mesopotamia and the Arabs were the first to cultivate it, where as it was the Egyptions and Chinese who developed distillation tech-
niques to extract the essential oils from dried flowers. It is said that Cleopatra used the essential oil of Lavender to seduce Giulius Cesare and Mark Anthony.
